‘I want to ride my bicycle, bicycle, bicycle’
Hooked after my first coffee ride event before the AMGEN Tour of California in 2016. The local riders that attended couldn’t contain themselves over meeting, and riding with, the likes of Mark Cavendish, Mark Renshaw and Bernie Eisel from Team Dimension Data. It was as if 10 of your favorite NFL or NBA All-Stars showed up to have a catch or shoot hoops, but these guys were riding bikes. The fans were literally shaking with excitement. I had no perspective on cycling, nor the enduring passion of the sport and its heroes, till that day. Returned to New York and purchased my first bike online with gift cards, crazy I know, not knowing anything about brand or quality. Buddy of mine put a bug in my ear that ‘you need to put at least a thousand miles on your starter bike, then start thinking about a ‘real’ bike.’ After 1,101 miles on my first iron horse, I invested in my first full carbon framed road bike -Specialized Roubaix SL4, and never looked back! [UPDATE] Now a proud owner of a GIANT Defy road bike, thanks to the cyclist’s N+1 bicycle rule! Carbon fork and frame, disc brakes and a friendly orange paint job, making it easier to rep my Natty Champs Clemson Tigers.

I would be remiss in not mentioning my Clemson Tigers. Clemson alum dating back to the rough times during Ken Hatfield and Tommy West…the Dabo times have been a blessing and well worth the wait. Ever since the Boyd to Hopkins 4th and 16 pass against LSU, you would need to be a long suffering Clemson fan to appreciate the play, the ride to our first #Natty in 36 years has been amazing. Any chance I get, I fly the Clemson Tiger paw with pride! Proud Clemson Tiger, #AllIn always!
